Windows Firewall Notifier (WFN for short and for the continuation of this article) comes in handy if you’re the type of person who cares about privacy & security and the type of person who wants a more efficient means of keeping a close eye on the firewall that Microsoft baked into the Windows operating system.
You see, WFN was designed to be a sort of “extension” for the built-in Windows firewall. It’ll help you monitor connections in real-time, it will let you access a connections map, it will bring up connection notifications, it will even help you monitor bandwidth usage.
WFN needs .NET Framework 4.5 and Windows Vista or newer to run. A Read Me file is available in English and French. Access it to view some handy information about getting WFN up and running and about using WFN on a Windows PC.
